DAAD scholarships
for two doctoral candidates

Two doctoral scholarships for International PhD Students

The University of Bonn offers two PhD scholarship financed by the DAAD within the DAAD-Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP). The PhD students will be associated to the Research Training Group RTG/GRK 2873 focused on “Tools and Drugs of the Future – Innovative Methods and New Modalities in Medicinal Chemistry” (www.grk2873.uni-bonn.de/en).

Applications are welcome from developing and emerging countries. The scholarship will start in February 2025 or later for a maximum of 4 years. Applicants must have an excellent Master’s degree or equivalent in pharmacy/pharmacology, (medicinal) chemistry, biochemistry, drug research or related fields. The selection will be made on a competitive basis.

Doctoral scholarships within the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship (GSSP) follow a two-stage procedure. First, the RTG 2873 speakers will select suitable doctoral candidates for two DAAD scholarships, who will then submit their applications to the DAAD. In a second step, the DAAD will award and administer the scholarships.

Training program

The qualification program  of the RTG2873 is aimed at educating an new generation of medicinal chmeists in up-to-date methods and technologies.

Focus of research

Different strategies will be employed to discover tools and drugs for novel types of drug targets.
